Bendy Myth: You can’t be strong and flexible.

As an aerialist myself, I can commiserate with the comments of "My arms are so tight from training aerial!" or for my gym folks with swoll legs, I get it. Yes, it'll be more work to balance our strength AND flexibility, but it is not impossible. ⁣⁣

I found a powerful quote through @elllie.unicorn.klein: 'Contortion is not about becoming as flexible as possible. It's about finding strength at your maximum range.' - @anna⁣⁣venizelos⁣

Contortionists achieve some of the most extraordinary feats of strengths that a human can accomplish!⁣To be a contortionist is to be an artist AND athlete. You have to have strength and control to move through your flexibility skills to do the art.

On the contrary, I've seen many very flexible people not have any strength, stability, or control over their bendiness. In these situations, finding the right coach can make a difference!⁣⁣

What are your thoughts on this bendy myth?!⁣⁣⁣
